Mr. Sam Shihab, a co-founder of the law firm of Shihab & Associates, offers 15 years of experience as an immigration counsel representing corporations, investors, families, and individuals in all aspects of U.S. immigration law. His decade-long prior experience as an engineer makes him uniquely qualified to assist corporate clients in complex technology-related and multi-national transactions, and assist foreign scientists, engineers and information technology professionals in immigration law-related matters. Mr. Shihab has been successful in reversing prior negative rulings before the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, U.S. Department of State, Immigration Court, Board of Immigration Appeals, and many U.S. embassies abroad. He has appeared before several federal courts on immigration law matters. He has also been successful in representing corporate clients in H-1B visas, L visas, E visas and other employment based visas.
Mr. Shihab has represented clients in H-1B audits for close to ten years. He has been successful in negotiations with the U.S. Labor Department in H-1B audits where he has a perfect record of no findings of liability on behalf of his clients. This in part due to a philosophy of proactive and preventive measure approach in corporate representation.
Mr. Shihab attained his engineering degree in 1984 and his law degree in 1994. He co-founded Shihab & Associates in 1995. Mr. Shihab is a member of the U.S. and Ohio Supreme Courts, several federal district courts in Ohio, Michigan and Washington DC, and the Sixth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.
Mr. Shihab is a general aviation instrument rated pilot who enjoys flying when he is not in the office representing client. He is a father of two girls aged 2 years and 4 years.
